The Land Development Engineering Division oversees various engineering permits and inspections related to grading, erosion control, street improvements, landscaping, subdivisions, final map, parcel map, lot line adjustment, easements, right-of-way dedication and vacation, encroachment and removal agreements, as well as haul route and utility permits, flood and storm water management.

The Land Development Division is responsible for maintaining and upholding the City’s Standard Design Specifications, Management Plans and Maps, to ensure private development projects and activities in the public right-of-way meet all City zoning standards, plans, policies, ordinances, guidelines, and applicable local and state regulations. 

Engineering Applications

All City applications for Planning, Building, Engineering, Fire, Regulatory Permits and Special Events are available via the Customer Self Service (CSS) portal.   

Land Development Engineering reviews engineering applications, ensuring compliance with all City engineering standards, plans, policies, guidelines and regulations, as well as provides public counter services for public inquiries regarding development engineering issues.   

Engineering Inspections

The Engineering Inspections Section of the Land Development Engineering Division is responsible for the enforcement of all City Engineering standards through field inspection/oversight and ensures that site conditions and construction activities adhere to the requirements and conditions of the approved plans and permits.   Visit the Engineering Inspections page for additional details related to Engineering Inspections.

Engineering Resources 

Open the Engineering Tab on the CSS Page to view important resource documents, maps, and application links.  Find items such as Grading, Encroachment, Sewer and Utility Permit Applications, Engineering Design Manual, Engineering Fees, Engineering Plan Index and Survey Monument Viewers, Trench Cut Moratorium policy, and more.
