Since June 1998, the Encinitas City Council has recognized the value of an ongoing program whereby nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations have a means of requesting funding from the City to accomplish arts and civic projects. The establishment of the Community Grant Program (CGP), with an annual General Fund allocation and outside donations, has supported numerous projects that have enriched the five communities of Encinitas.

The CGP provides funding in two categories:

  • Civic: social, recreation, education, health and environment
  • Arts: visual art, performing arts, arts education, literary arts, etc.

Requests for funding are considered through an application process. To be eligible, organizations must be legally established with nonprofit 501(c)(3) status.

The City of Encinitas is grateful to the Ecke Family for their generous financial support of the CGP.

FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 ALLOCATIONS

Grant funds for FY 24/25 are for programs that take place from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. The final funding allocations were awarded by the City Council on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Organizations that are awarded funds are required to have a representative attend the Grant Recipient Workshop and Contract Distribution mandatory meeting, to be held from 4:00pm – 5:00pm on Thursday, April 25, 2024. The meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams.
