community centerThe Encinitas Community and Senior Center, owned and operated by the City of Encinitas, includes facilities that provide recreational, educational, social, and civic opportunities to the citizens of Encinitas. A wide variety of activities and events are available for all ages, from tiny tots to adults 50 and up.

Recreational Programs, Classes, and Sports Leagues

The Encinitas Community Center offers hundreds of classes annually. There's something for everyone. Typical classes are offered once or twice a week for 4-8 week sessions. No memberships are required. Please take a look at our current Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Guide below for a complete listing of what's offered. Additionally, "the Center" is a great place to hang out, use Open Gym, relax and enjoy our comfortable lobby area and gym mezzanine, all with free wi-fi. Our facility is a County designated "Cool Zone" making it a great place to cool off in the hot summer weather. Stop on by! Become a Contract Instructor

The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department welcomes instructor applications for Arts and Recreation classes and camps on an ongoing basis. Please apply and share your talent and time with the Encinitas community.

Facilities and Room Rentals/Reservations

"The Center" is approximately 39,000 square feet and includes a banquet hall and kitchen, gymnasium/auditorium, arts/crafts room, activity and meeting rooms, conference rooms, dance/activity room, billiards room, adults 50 and up living room/activity room and administrative offices. Download our Indoor Facilities Rental Application or pick one up at the Community Center front desk.

The Community Center rental staff are eager to help you find the perfect room for your meeting or event, from large to small. The Center offers rooms anywhere from small conference rooms to our its beautiful 5,000 square foot Banquet Hall, the perfect venue for weddings and other large events. Adults 50 + Programs and Service

The Encinitas Community and Senior Center is a purpose-built multi-generational facility, sharing many of its rooms for programs for tiny tots through older adults. The facility also houses the Encinitas Senior Center, with dedicated facilities open to adults 50 plus. Typical programs offered at the Center include instructional classes, fitness groups, ample opportunities to socialize and participate in clubs, drop-in programs and to receive many valuable free and fee-based services.

Senior Center rooms include:

  • Billiards game room - featuring three 9' Diamond ProAm pool tables
  • Living Room/Activity Room - A great place to meet, relax and to participate in meetings and activities
  • Lounge space in the rotunda

Senior Lunch Program

Enjoy a nutritious and satisfying dining experience weekdays at the Encinitas Community and Senior Center's Oakcrest Café for Adults 60+ and their guests. 

The City of Encinitas Senior Center is proud to work with Essenco, Inc. the lunch program provider as of July 24, 2019. Essenco, Inc. works with the City of Encinitas to ensure that nutritional needs are balanced with an overall dining experience focused on quality, taste, variety and presentation. Essenco, Inc. prepares its own soups and sauces from fresh, natural ingredients and tries to minimize utilizing processed foods.

Suggested daily meal contribution is $4 for adults 60+ with a $7 fee per meal for ages under 60. Reservations are required and can be made up until 12 p.m. one business day before you would like to have lunch, by calling (760) 943-2258. Check-in for lunch between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Lunch is served at 11:40 a.m. We look forward to serving you! *Please note, lunch registration is required for all participants age 60 and up must be updated annually.
