GIS Web Map App Guide
This guide is a great starting point to all public GIS web apps created by the City of Encinitas GIS group. It contains names, links, brief descriptions, and metadata for GIS web apps that have been produced. In addition, if an app has special tools or widgets, we will describe them as well.

City of Encinitas Open GIS Data Hub
The City's site for downloading and learning more about available GIS data. This is a constantly growing repository of public data. Note: GIS software is required to view the downloaded data. 

 

GIS Mapping Applications

Affordable Apartments and Homes
This dashboard shows current and future affordable units in the City. Includes locations, eligibilities, and contact information for each of the locations.

Building Square Footage Viewer
This app displays Assessor Address, Lot square footage, and building square footage for properties in the City. This data is solely maintained by the Assessor and is updated once a month.

Capital Improvement Projects Viewer
This tool allows you to track the progress of all City and SDWD projects. While many enhancements are still on the way, it currently provides statuses, descriptions, maps, project manager contacts, and links to fact sheets for all projects. It also features some filtering capabilities so you can see what is happening in your council district.

Commission Boundaries Map
Type in an address to determine which Planning Commission or Traffic & Public Safety Commission it falls within.

Encinitas Crime Map
This interactive map provides the public with valuable information about recent crime activity in their neighborhood. The goal is to assist police departments in reducing crime through a better-informed citizenry. This site is not maintained by the City of Encinitas.

Encinitas Fire Hydrants
A simple web map that just shows the locations of all fire hydrants in the City of Encinitas, maintained by both San Dieguito Water District and Olivenhain Municipal Water District.

Encinitas Major Transit Stop Buffer
This app shows ½ mile and ½ mile walkshed buffers around the Encinitas Station and their applicable parcels for projects to see if they must have parking requirements. Applicable bills and laws are linked to as well.

Encinitas Public Handicap Parking
Public handicap parking spaces in Encinitas. Spaces are either maintained by California State Parks, CalTrans, Encinitas Street Maintenance, and North County Transit District.

Encinitas SB 743 Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) Maps
This app contains four maps of Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) model runs conducted at a Traffic Analysis Zone (TAZ) level. The four maps are 2016 VMT per Capita by TAZ, 2016 VMT per Employee by TAZ, 2050 VMT per Capita by TAZ (projected), and 2050 VMT per Employee by TAZ (Projected).

Encinitas Wildfire Emergency Preparedness and Resources
This page is the City’s one-stop-shop for wildfire information. It is a collection of resources and maps from a variety of sources designed to provide you with ways to prepare for and monitor wildfires. From evacuation zones to live web cams, it contains a wealth of information to help you in the event of a wildfire emergency.

Engineering Plan Index Viewer
This interactive map app will allow you to identify, view, and print plans and drawings associated with a particular location.

E-Zoning
Type in a property address to find its zoning profile.

Flood Zone Map
Do you need to determine if a property in Encinitas is in or near a FEMA flood zone? Use this app to find out.

Historical Imagery Viewer 1988-2022
See aerial imagery of Encinitas from the past and present.

Land Records
This interactive map allows you to view County-recorded subdivision maps, plans, and records related to land information.

Mapped Open Space Easements
View Encinitas City-mapped open space easements as well as "historical" open space layers.

MyEncinitas App
Use this app to report non-emergency neighborhood issues to the City.

MyEncinitas Map
Type in an address and find all the need to know info, including school district, trash pickup schedule and more. Please note: the City does not publish parcel owner information per GC 6254.21. This may be requested from the San Diego County Assessors Office.

Residential Parking Permits Map
This interactive map shows parking zones and their residential boundaries in the City of Encinitas. Refer to the Residential Parking Permits page for more details.

Road Condition Map
Access pavement conditions and last pavement year.

SANDAG 511
511 is a free phone and web service that consolidates San Diego's regional transportation information into a one-stop resource, providing up-to-the-minute information on traffic conditions, drive times, incidents, and more. This site is not maintained by the City of Encinitas.

Short-Term Rental Permit Viewer
Access short term rental permit locations and information in the City.

Special Purpose Overlay Zone Viewer
This app shows all the different Special Purpose Overlay Zones, as called out in Chapter 30.34 SPECIAL PUPROSE OVERLAY ZONES of the Municipal Code. 

Survey Monument Map
The Encinitas Survey Monument Viewer is an interactive map that displays the survey control monuments in and around the City of Encinitas. The Viewer can be viewed on any computer or mobile device.

Time Limited Parking - Downtown Encinitas
Parking restrictions in downtown Encinitas. Shared with business owners so they know customer parking restrictions and times when street sweeping occurs.
