    Weds@Noon: Jerry Michelsen

    FREE CONCERT

Jerry Michelsen returns to the Encinitas Library bringing his jazz and blues artistry to the stage as a solo pianist. A piano teacher and performer in Encinitas for the past 28 years, Jerry has influenced hundreds of pianists of all ages in the North County and San Diego area. He continues to perform and teach piano, theory, and harmonica lessons in Encinitas. Prior to moving here in 1996, The Jerry Michelsen Jazz Trio performed for 17 consecutive years, mostly in Latin America. While in high school in the late 1960’s, Jerry’s psychedelic rock band, The Children, was well-known for being a regular warm up act at the Grande Ballroom and Ford Auditorium in Detroit for famous groups including Procol Harum, The James Cotton Blues Band, Iggy Pop, and Cream. Jerry studied piano performance, theory, and composition at the Cornish School of Arts in Seattle and The Banff Centre of Fine Arts in Alberta, Canada. Among his private teachers was Jack Percival, the pianist and arranger for The Harry James Orchestra.
